The zoo is very nice and family orientated.....always new things to see. Go in early morning and enjoy.
It's pretty awesome! They even allow you to bring in a cooler with your own food and drinks, which not many places do.
Good zoo but very hot if outside is above 80 degrees. Not enough shade
I'd recommend taking your time and not trying to visit it all in one day. Do the buildings on a warmer day and the outdoor stuff on a cooler day.
It's actually award winning. Definitely nicer than the OKC Zoo. They've done a bunch of upgrades in the past few years as well, including the new "Lost Kingdom" exhibit. It's not so large that you can't see the entire zoo without becoming too exhausted or disinterested, but it is bigger than a few other zoos I've been to. There are sprayers around walking paths to help keep you cool. Buildings are air conditioned too.

I had only been here for Halloweens. 1st time I went to the actual zoo, a couple of weeks ago, in a long time. I was shocked how good it is. Especially if u go early when it's a little cool out.
It's great and it's very easy to drive to.
