Hey everyone, what kinds of product are used for the starter locs? I don’t want any gels or wax’s to avoid build ups. I am starting with about 6 inches of hair.

He uses a water soluble gel called 'Joie Naturals - MyGel' has a really great hold and washes off effectively. Leaves no residue.

I don't know the actual product used but Doug started and has maintained my locs and I haven't had a buildup problem at all. Nobody but Doug touches my hair! He doesn't use wax for sure but you can have that conversation during your consultation.

Doug started my locs over a month ago. He is the only one that touch my head. He is awesome. I know he don't use wax. Whatever he use it doesn't cause any build up.

Is there anyone who does a really natural sew in with kinky curly hair?
