I read recently that "due to the opioid epidemic" in Tennessee there are currently 8000 children in foster care and only 4000 foster families. 8000!! Does that sound as insane to you as it does to me? I don't doubt there is serious drug problem in our community but I believe there is another reason this agency is stealing, kidnapping, or whatever you want to call it. Follow the money. There's a great deal of money to be made in the business of "protecting children. Foster parents receive a pretty decent pay check for each child that they qet. Add that to clothing allowance, free insurance, and other benefits and you'll find that there is money to be made by state sanctioned kidnapping.
The state doesn't really "make money" off the children because the state, or tax payers, have to fork over a lot of it including foster parents who don't make money off these kids. Its true that kids in foster care get insurance and clothes (not the foster parents) but someone has to pay for that. I always wonder why we blame "the system" instead of keeping the parents accountable. The state would prefer parents to not neglect or abuse children, but that is not the world we live in. Then there is more kids than homes in the system, plus the fact that the children's trauma doesn't just disappear and people want perfect kids to be in their home and that's just not reality. The best way your question can be answered is to go to your local DCS office and talk to them instead of going to Google to get your answer. It's easy for us to complain about a system we don't understand, but it's harder and will actually make a difference to be involved and do something about it.
DCS is a child trafficking machine and yes the state does make money off the children! Everywhich way but sunday! If they cared the money being paid to horrendous foster homes would go to maintain families and help them inside facility where children can be with or near their parents! Afghan opium being dropped on our streets isnt helping the situation! Profiting from traumatizing American children is about to come to a screeching halt!
When i was in foster care i was a level 3 placement and was not allowed to be adopted because smoky mountain childrens home was making 1300 a month off me. Foster parents do make a lot depending on the placement level.
