My phone won’t back up since October 29, 2019 . I downloaded the ITunes app to my laptop, & backed up my phone on my computer, but it still shows me that my IPhone 8 isn’t backed up since October 29,2012!!

Best bet is to SWAP ur phone to a new phone at the apple shop .... Worth it .... BTW I have defected to Android.... Google assistant is AMAZING ..... leaves Siri in the dust !!!

If you take it to the Apple Store they can help, however this time of the year it is extremely busy I believe they do accept appointments so you don't have to wait. Their staff is very pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately apple products are known to become obsolete as well since yours is an 8 and now apple phones are at an 11. Definitely worth going there to see. Just had the same problem with my kids phones they were 7s just ended up upgrading
