It can be yes. My only concern is there are very hot stones given to individuals that order steak to cook their steak on. You will have to make sure they don't touch the stones. They shouldn't be in thier way but kids tend to be unpredictable. Typically it's kid friendly and safe with good supervision.
I agree with Jason 100% if you have younger kids, i wouldn't take them just to be pro active
I think the stones are heated to something crazy like 800 degrees for 12 hours. After our meal i tapped one quickly, it was still extremely hot. It wouldn't take much for a severe burn.
Depends how young, 12+ I feel would be ok. Really easy to burn yourself ok the cooking stone.
