The American Red Cross is a donation organization and do not pay for donations.

Certain blood donations can be given compensation. Platelets donations are usually gifted a $25 gift card to a local store (like Best Buy). First-time Platelet donors may be given two cards. It's a two-hour process and may use I.V.s in both arms (so you may be sore on both arms). They do not give cash, nor do they give gift cards for standard "whole blood" donations.
