Same here!!!!!! I have been calling all day. I am 7 hours away but will drive to get Beau before i will let him be euthanized.
I agree. I'm in Toronto, Canada and when I read the Facebook post I was outraged, shared it and started calling them. I'm glad others care the same way I do. Euthanized 1 week after putting the puppy up for adoption????? UPDATE: I called and spoke to them yesterday. She hung up on me because I expressed my upset. Called back again. She said they have to post a euthanasia date for all the animals- and that it's the only way for people to know it's urgent and act. She said people will be camped out waiting for Beau and that "he's the safest dog in the world" because of the level of interest. Please adopt another dog if Beau has already been adopted. They will post his update on their Facebook page.
I also am going to adopt beau, try too. He has over 100+ people interested. Also, it’s first come first serve so whoever shows up at the shelter in the morning, will be getting him. The shelter posted on there face book page they can’t answer calls because the line is so busy because of everyone interested in beau. I would suggest if you show up and beau isn’t there, choose another dog for adoption.
I am also outraged that a four month old puppy could be euthanized for no reason at all! Once an animal reaches the deadline date for euthanasia, it should be placed in a foster home or a no kill shelter! My hope is that Beau will be adopted by one of the hundreds of people who will show up that day, and that ALL of the other people will adopt some animals so that this will not happen to the other animals!
