I purchased a shark lift away approximately 1.5 years ago. I has become clogged and I cleared the hair and dust.and it no longer picks up normal carpet dust and small items. Can I return it for credit so I can purchase a new vacuum cleaner?

I would give it a try. They take most everything back.

Costco is known to take "anything" back. Especially if you have the receipt. I would run over there and see what they'll do for a switch.
