Nevada sales tax is reported as none however it is actually 4.5 to 8% depending on the county. Reno runs 7.5. There is no State income tax which many confuse with no sales tax. Some food is taxed, resturant food is taxed. Property tax is low due to gambling. Gas has multiple taxes but most are related to additional tax for schools that was voted on. Simply look up Nevada taxes on the internet for information.

On food (except hot food) there is no tax, on clothing and objects it's like 7.2-7.5% on tax... I think....
