As in most industries, I firmly believe the quality of the repair and interaction is highly dependent on the expertise and integrity of the individual service professional, regardless of the umbrella company. In our experience, on this repair our technician was Kaden. He was excellent, efficient yet patient, and quickly addressed the immediate issue as well as taking the time, above and beyond with a full docket, to take care of a side concern related to our furnace and blower. He was straightforward, kind and did not inappropriately upsell. Without hesitation, I would recommend Kaden. Per his service and repair, I’d give 5 stars. I truly appreciate his time, helpfulness, and professional manner. My reasoning for 4 stars is unrelated to the service itself and more a scheduling issue that could be a breaking point for many (although let’s face it, when your heat or ac go out in the middle of their high season, most people will move mountains to get it operational in a quick timeframe); it does not reflect the quality of the repair. The issue is that no time frame or window is provided for when your service call may occur: you get a day. When, by 2pm on my scheduled day, I still had not received a call to give me a time, the call operator was still unable to provide any guidance (even an ‘end time’) on when the call might take place. For some, this would be extremely difficult as far as rearranging work and family schedules to be home indefinitely. On the flip side, I admit this more fluid business model is likely why they’re able to schedule people more quickly than other companies at times, however, an option to schedule out a day or so later, but with a more concrete time window may make scheduling more convenient for customers whose work/time/family constraints are more immediate than their HVAC maintenance or repair. This was our third repair with Sierra Air—they (angelically, in my opinion), miraculously fixed an 18 year old AC when I was very pregnant with twins in the middle of summer six years ago, and even though they advised it may be a Hail Mary type of fix and temporary, it still holds well to this day. A few years ago, they also fixed an identical issue (broken igniter) on our furnace on the other side of the house (also with no issue and still going strong). From my own research, it seems the company has changed ownership recently. I have a neighbor who had an extremely negative/dishonest interaction with the same company (different technician) shortly thereafter. As such, I was a bit hesitant to make the call again to Sierra Air when we had this new issue. It is my hope that my neighbor’s instance several months ago was a growing pain and one bad apple since removed. My experience today was excellent, and I hope that trend continues.

It took from April to July to repair air conditioning system that they damaged. I will note that they did not charge me for the repairs but went most of the 100 degree days without air conditioning. Always got put off on my maintenance program. This time moved from October to December. I thought membership gave me some priority for service but apparently not. This has happened too many time. My customer rep is never at her desk and doesn't return my calls. Trying to discontinue but get no response.

Simple furnace replacement bid of $10k. Used another company that did the job for less than half of Sierra Air bid. Go figure
