I want to buy a S&W Pistol. I have a CCW with my photo on it. Will this be a simple sale or, does it get more complicated than this. Some people say that a background check has to be done. Will my CCW issued 14 months ago suffice?

Hi Wayne, same thing with me. A CCW will allow you to leave with the S&W as soon as the call-in background check is done, about $5.00 at Academy. If a person doesn't have a CCW, a 3 day waiting period is imposed. I hope this helps you. Grady Hartsfield

You can walk in and make your purchase. The store will call the state and versify your information. Once that is done, you'll be able to walk out with your purchase. Should take about 15 minutes.
