It is a catch 22. The insurance is from the manufacturer that knows common failures. At the same time the device is losing value in time. This is no different then a car or appliance insurance plan. The way to get around this is to ask for a voucher or a discount on your next Samsung purchase. If they fail to do anything for you then let them know this will be your LAST SAMSUNG PURCHASE. This has worked for me from a number of services and vendors. Remember you are the customer and have influence on others.
Hello - your Samsung device includes a one year manufacturer's warranty that covers any manufacturer defects. For extended protection, accidental damage, replacement and more, you can purchase insurance through your carrier or Samsung's Premium Care. For more information regarding Samsung's Premium Care protection please see here: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/premium-care/ .
Insurance that your carrier offers are not from Samsung. Grab a Samsung care if you want insurance from Samsung
