1. There may be some content some would find objectionable for children (murder has been a theme for one of the rooms I played), but for the most part, there isn't anything graphic. However, a lot of the puzzles would be difficult for children. There are some rooms that are designed for children to play, but it varies from room to room. 2. Break through reno doesn't have any rooms that would be scary, but there is at least one other location that has a room with jump scares in reno. 3. The rooms are safe for people with medical issues or disabilities, but some of the puzzles are dexterity based, so people with disabilities might have trouble with those puzzles.
When we went to Break Through Reno we had ages ranging from 20 months to 37 years old. Obviosusly the 20 month old was more of a hindrance than anything and the 6 year old wasn't able to help a whole lot with the puzzles but there was nothing scary at all. In fact she enjoyed being there and seeing the puzzles solved. The other players were 16+ years old and were all able to partake in the puzzles. We did the Ninja room and they said that was probably the most child friendly.
Thank you both for your answers! Very helpful! We'll be planning a Breakout day soon!!
I would add that they are intended to feel a little pressuring. There's a time limit (1hr) usually connected to something going wrong (bomb would detonate for example) that could feel concerning if a kid took it too seriously. Also, the room is actually locked for the duration. There's an emergency escape and you can contact the person guiding you anytime, but for antsy or anxious children could be a little annoyed.
