Had a trip planned here with my family. Are there cicadas in this area?

No, there are not. Different breed for that area of Md.

There are cicadas from the Mississippi River east to the Atlantic Ocean and from at least Pennsylvania south to North Carolina. They emerged in the Mid-Atlantic states around 2 weeks ago and should last about 4 more weeks.

I would imagine so, they are everywhere right now!
