Beautiful waterfront park on the Patuxent river! A paved path, with indigenous exhibits towards the middle of the trail. The trail is wheelchair accesible. However, not so much to get the water. There is also plenty of parking!

An ideal park for taking the family, dogs, significant other, or yourself. Even better if you bring a picnic basket and a blanket. Before going I would bring up their website, so you can see what it all offers. On my first visit, there was a wedding. There's a kayak/canoe launch area, and a handful of trails, you can learn about its history, and see how the Indigenous people might have lived. I am sure I am missing other things the Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum has to offer.

Hi Charles! The Patterson House is undergoing renovations for the next two years, so the paved road will be closed for that time. We are working on the possibility of an alternative route for patrons to still access the point and will update our website and social media when it is available. Stay tuned!

The visitor center is not open at this time. None of the buildings are. There are porta-potties and hand washing stations.
Today (7/14/18) is the 2nd Annual Southern Maryland Balloon Festival
Not sure if they segregate their days but every is American day and a good day to visit. Don't let any day stop you from enjoying this beautiful and historic park.
