Males are less costly than females. You won't have to wait very long, if you leave the cat in a carrier and come back. Included in the cost is the mandatory shot for rabies. As important as that shot and the fixing is, there are several other non mandatory shots the cat should have, if you want to avoid the tears that come a few years later.
Depends on a few things but they're definitely the cheapest place I've been and they really care for the animals. Give them a call. They don't do appointments so if you go, get there very early.
