No, an appointment is not necessary. The service there is so quick I imagine there's never a need for one. The DDS now will have you use their touch screen computers to digitally fill out all the required details before your given a ticket. The whole process takes you maybe 5 minutes or less... longer than it takes for you to get called up to the counter. If it's been a long time since you renewed your license, you will have to bring two copies, proof of residence via a bill and a copy of your birth certificate or some other form of I.D. and it will cost you $30 to renew.
No ..just walk-in get a number and be seated to be called. Avoid days when schools are closed
