Yes, they are a bit strange when it comes to seating... there may be empty tables, but they will not seat you... strongly calling ahead to get reservations
Yes
You really should make a reservation for Purple Poulet, especially on the weekend. I don't know if they will seat without a reservation, but it fills up quickly, and they will decline to seat a table if they will not be able to serve it well. Like most restaurants, their reservations have a start time. Don't be surprised if they tell you your reservation has an end time as well, like "You have the table reserved from 5 to 7". This is normal in larger cities but probably the first time you've heard it in Dayton, Kentucky. Don't take it personally. It's a normal practice, just possibly unfamiliar.
Needed, but i don't know if required
Not required, but hard to get seated without them. I've seen a couple sit at bar without them.
You don't need reservations but they are recommended. Call a few weeks ahead of time to ensure getting the time you want.
Yes reservations are needed. They are getting very busy.
I believe the dining room is reservation only. You can order the full menu from the bar though. It's limited seating, first come at the bar.
