In 30 + years of fishing at CJ Brown reservoir I've never seen or caught a flathead catfish. I've caught blues and all kinds of channel catfish, walleye, perch, crappie, bluegill, carp, but never a flathead. Don't think Clark lake has any either. Way too shallow.
Yes. The deeper you can get in the water, the bigger the catfish are. I remember that my dad and myself were trying to catch a catfish at the marina, but broke through a 60lb line. We were using bread and hotdogs for bait.
Mabe 30-40lb blues. Nice channels walleye perch white bass.
