The Grist Mill opened as a Mill around the mid to late 1700s. As a nature preserve, It was purchased my Mortimore Newlin again and opened by the Newlin Family Trust in the mid 1960s.

I do not know when it first opened. The Mill is open on weekends during the Spring, Summer and Fall.
