Need help: person from another country legally needs help fixing up the house she lives in with 3 school age children. She can't afford to hire anyone or take out a loan. Has very little to live on. Help please.

Catholic charities can help with clothes, food, diapers, utilities, employment and that's just the things I'm aware of. Salvation army, and st Vincent de Paul all have a host of assistance too. There's also urban league, Jeremiahs place and east end cooperative ministries.

Would they be willing to do minimal cash assistance?

Catholic Charities can't help directly with home repair. There are other organizations that might be able to help however.
