Generally most people in Florida avoid camping in July due to the heat. This park has a nice sea breeze, and when we went camping in June did not have much issue with mosquitos. (we did get absolutely drenched, which was likely why). As a general rule of thumb, bring plenty of big spray and sun lotion when camping any time of year in Florida, apply regularly, and drink plenty of water.
Yes for mosquitos. Very hot every day and late afternoon rain or storm daily. The state park is beautiful 8 but the camping area 3... camping sites are very small and next to each other. There no canopy for shade or rain at the camping area. Bathrooms, beaches and trails at the park are well kept. Trails n road have tons of canopy for hiking, running and biking. Probably the best place to bike in town (road trail n mountain bike trail). Able to bike at the beach during low tie as well. Many of the restaurants in Amelia are not respecting 6ft rule.
