The price it higher for puppies and kittens, which normally includes microchiping and spay/nueter if it wasnt already done. The spay/nueter does take up to three days for the dog or cat to recover and during that period it has to stay at the pound. Grown up dogs and cat cost very low. Sometimes they do have days where there is a discount, which should be on their website or posted on the doors in the pound.

Prices are to high. During 4th of July they were doing free microchipping. My 🐕 got out and they wanted over $400 to get him home. He's not nutered and was never licensed. They wanted to nuter him ( which he would have had to stay over the weekend ). He was scared to death. Finally convinced them that fixing him at the age of 12 was not a good idea and I will WOULD NOT sign a release form ( saying I would not sue them if he died during surgery ). They finally let me take him home, not nutered and paying 1/2 of their horrible price ( over $200 ). My whole family was a wreck over it. He has a name tag now with our # on it. He will lick you to death if he gets close enough. He's had a bum let since birth. They did chip him with the that if he ever came back they would charge us with everything they could. Nice of them to knock off what they did, but really ? ? ?
