I am not professional animal person but I've cats all my life and from what I've seen is that any dog or cat can become best buds in time but mostly when they are young and grow up together. I would not throw an older pet and a new or younger pet together for some get set in there ways and territorial values. Hope this helps
I think each one will stand there ground and eventually get along in a love hate sort of way.
Once together for a time they don't even react to each other. Have had labs and cats together for years
Joyce it can be done usually smaller dogs will do better with cats. I would recommend you talk to some of the dog training people, but the process can take weeks, keeping them separate and slowly introducing the animals to each other.
My cat is 8 years old. We had to put his friend cat down on new years eve. I was thinking about a older animal maybe just better giving it up. I've been through 2 cats deaths. I'm toying to getting a mate
I have a American Pitbull Terrier mix that is about 5 and we got a kitten and they are BEST FRIENDS!! It just depends on the animals.
They dont like pit bull or German dogs
Yes the best ones are when they grow up together. But my dog, a terrier, over the years will get along with all cats, new and old. He just grew up with kittens and cats. :)
