It's donated food. Most from stores that cannot sell past expiration. It is a free service to help out in distributing to those who need help, but you can always decline to go and try St Mary's ☺
I have received items already molding at times. But, not always. Most of the time their food is good.
What people don't know is that on some item you can use after the code date. If you go in to store's and buy discounted or even manigrer specialls it is almost at the expectation date. My grandparents use to by meat all the time like that and we all ate it with no problems.
Im sure they have to abide by some type of rules... Maybe contact health services.
