You dont need any paperwork to get emissions. Just $17. They scan your vin number for the test. No ID ever asked for. The car is what is tested. Not the driver. Lol.

They typically use the VIN of the vehicle to put the test in the computer. My vehicle has a bar code with the VIN and so they can that, and log the test in the system for my car. Then when I go to renew, it shows as tested and passed. I don't believe they asked me for my ID before.

Agreed with Nick, every time I go I just take my ID

You don't need renewal paperwork. It's all computerized. Nick, the question was if they needed the renewal paperwork. He didn't ask if they check ID to establish that it's you. Yes, it's the vehicle emissions they are testing not the drivers emissions. Got it.
