Pricing is flat rate, not by car. $27-28. I always have cash, but I think they accept credit. Probably not checks.
I don't know but we had a 2008 civic we payed 17 dollars.. For a two year registration
The test is 17$ for a gas car under 8700 lbs, 25$ for heavy class diesel vehicles, and 16 for all other tests and that includes light duty diesel passenger cars
