I visited suffering from anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder. They do not treat anything here. It's a containment facility, and I was even worse once I was finally able to leave (they also refuse to let you leave, which is breaking the law if you check yourself in, which I did). This "hospital" actually made me suffer worse and I was already in a very dark place. I now refuse to seek treatment because I fear places like this, which is never good for people with mental disorders. PLEASE save yourself and seek treatment elsewhere. PLEASE.
They treated everything but gave me wrong meds at first . i also felt like i was in jail. And no one would listen to me about my meds. The place need some working on with the employees.
I have been recently for p.t.s.d. and anxiety and depression and I did find help there through Dr. Islam who does impatient and outpatient e.c.t. ( electric conclusive therapy a.k.a. shock therapy ). I feel that I should mention that the food is good and this is one of the only places around Dallas that still let you smoke ciggererttes, if you want. I did have bad days, of course, but overall Mayhill Hospital really helped me and the the staff is helpful and will take time out to talk to you one on one. They have meditatation and sitting down yoga groups. I would go back if I needed to. I cannot say that about other hospitals in the north Texas area.
Yes, the techs are amazing but the nurses are beyond slow at times regarding health, wellness, and being less than responsive during breakdowns and anxiety attacks due to ptsd or c-ptsd. Slow acting, I eat halal and barely got any food to fit my needs and a friend of mine who was a habitual patient whom had dietary restrictions due to cancer, allergic reactions, etc. I was there for 8 days.
