These are evil people in a corrupt system destroying citizen lives trying to keep the big jail full and get state money doing it. Should report your case to the state watchdog agency.

The same thing happened to me--my encounter was identical to yours, outcome the same, with 2 yrs probation and monthly reporting plus fee. I was involved in a car accident, the other car pulled out of a co rd off Hwy 31E. Fortunately nobody injured. I don't think either one of us were cited (we just agreed neither one of us saw each other, but I signaled way before and was just starting to turn into my driveway). Suddenly I'm being handcuffed and spending 2 days in jail. Of course I was lied to, and damn, don't ask any questions about why you're there or any other stupid questions you may have. I was led to believe I was driving at high rate of speed (remember, I was turning into my driveway), or drunk (7:30ish, Sunday morning), not another car on the road, hence no witnesses. I had to get the blowing thingy installed on my dad's car (mine was wiped out) at my expense of course, report and pay monthly to that place as well as probation monthly. My final visit at the payment window-tbc*
