Last time I went was with my school so we had to listen to the tour guide bit I think you can go through at your own pace depending how detailed you want the history. Could be a couple hours or may be an all day deal. I want to go back so bad now that Im grown with my own kids.

You set up your own time since is walking tour depends on how much you want to expend on each building
It's an 'at your own pace' tour. There are people throughout to talk to but you can move as fasr or as slow as you want. You can skip buildings or really investigate them. I love this place.
