800.00 seriously. I can see 250. even 300. I wanted to adopt that dog. I work at a great vet in dallas, 7 years now. I can give any dog the best care possible. Precious piglet. Is that the best you could do on names for such a sweet girl

We treated her for parvo. How much does the vet you work for charge for two weeks of intensive hospitalization for parvo? Probably more than $800. Because our mission focuses on medical rehabilitation our medical costs are significantly higher than other shelters. As a result, our average adoption fee is higher than other shelters. You are looking to adopt a healthy purebred dog under a year old that breeders sell for $1,500 or more. Because these dogs are rare in shelters, demand for them is high. We have made a policy decision to adopt these types of dogs out at “market” rates, which helps us make up our medical costs, discourages “dog flippers” from adopting our dogs and selling them on Craigslist, and helps us pay for medical costs on dogs that can’t command a very high adoption fee (chihuahuas, pits, senior dogs, for instance). We do have many dogs just as good (or better) than Piglet with lower adoption fees. Further, we thought Piglet was a cute name.

I don't work at animal hope. But I have been there and have seen that they take very good care of the animals. Is your complaint the $800? Or the name?
