My Dr told me to choose between pain meds or medical marijuana. Then a law passed making marijuana recreational in my state so I have both. Don't ever let a Dr tell you what to do without research. 99% of drs are complete fools just desperate to pay their loans back any way possible. Remember... The patient is never #1... The drs care about their career and $ than doing the correct thing morally or even legally. The drs just keep this opiate crisis going by dishing out suboxen, and suboxen doesn't work at all whatsoever for pain. Thus you're on suboxone with all the bad symptoms of pain meds but still with pain. Suboxone is the worst thing ever invented. Look at the opioid crisis after suboxen was supposed to make it better. If you have a neighboring state where its recreational you can buy anything you want and bring it home. They don't set up checkpoints at state borders to search for pot. Nor do they even care because there's better stuff to do.
Canna Care Docs can help if your doctors are not willing to write a prescription. As long as you have documentation of a qualifying condition. It is true that some doctors will not prescribe narcotics if you test positive for marijuana (even if you have a medical card) but I am unsure if all doctors are that way.
You do not need to choose between pain meds or medical marijuana. You can receive pain meds if they are necessary and participate in the medical marijuana program. The only reason a doctor would make you choose between one or the other is because that doctor does not believe in the medical benefits of medical marijuana. They can however, refuse to fill your pain meds if u test positive for marijuana before u receive your medical marijuana card. But there are no laws that say you can only recieve one or the other.
If you are in pain management, and on pain meds, they won't let you be on medical marijuana. You have to choose. At least that's what my doctor said. I got off pain meds and got my card right away. I definitely am happy about the choice I made. Good luck. Also, it was my family doctor who did all my paperwork.
It can be any doctor not just your family Dr.

My pain med doc I’ve been going to for years. I trust him completely. in past 6 months, I have become allergic to most opioids sending me to the ER, several times. In the past 3 weeks, I have become allergic to the last opioid and 2 muscle relaxers, send me to the ER three more times. I brought up medical marijuana to him and he does not prescribe it since it’s federally illegal. But he did say that he has patients on MM that benefit from it, but they cannot be on both pain meds and MM at the same time. So I’ve spent 3 days so far, researching MM as I’m in constant chronic pain, head to toe, and in my 15th week of a fibromyalgia flare up. I have applied today for an appointment with a doc that will say yay or nay to a medical marijuana card. I also have 6 docs for that doc to get paperwork from. So, I hope it doesn’t take months to get a card. People, please do your research! It’s valuable to be informed!!!
As of 2018 delaware requires a drug test if you are getting opioids. And it is fine with the state that I get both they just require a test so they can go back later in case they need to. and just the word thought if you don't live in Delaware don't be trying to tell us what the regulations are. You live in another state that it's recreational . we'll congratulations your input doesn't work here though
It's all up to your doctor to fill things out
My doc has me on pain meds for pain and pot for vomiting and anxiety. From what I understand, you can not have pain meds and pot prescribed for the same problem, at least in Delaware.
You have to ask your family doctor about it if he agrees then he signs the application and you're in
Need to start with a visit to you family doctor to Fill out aplication
I have my card and want to know if there's any dispensaries that deliver.?
