Why won't the state of Nevada extradite? Amanda Fallon has left on the run to Oklahoma, where she is now in jail charged with her 3Dr assault and battery in 3 months. Does Nevada refuse responsibility?

Amanda - We're going to assume you're talking about someone on Parole or Probation, from Nevada. We do extradite from other states. There are several factors at play, though. The most important thing is that the arresting agency actually contact us. Our warrant is uploaded to national databases, and when a wanted person is detained, that information comes up. It is up to the arresting agency to contact us, to arrange extradition. If they don't, we never know they were arrested. Other factors include costs, availability of travel, ability of the arresting agency to hold, and many more things. If you would like to provide a tip, please contact our Fugitive Apprehension Unit, located at our headquarters office in Carson City, NV at 775-684-2600. Lastly, if the person you are talking about is not on Parole or Probation, none of this applies. Thanks.

If a crime is committed in Nevada, they will be held in jail for THAT crime only. If other warrants are still pending in other states, its the responsibility of THAT state to extradite that person while in custody of CCDC. If said person serves the time or bond out BEFORE the warranting state 'come gets' the person, thwy will walk out of CCDC a "free man". Of course, CCDC does notify warranting state that they do have YOU in custody. (Also dependent upon the severity of crime)
