You are best to call immigration and ask them. They are very helpful or you could make an info pass appointment and go and ask them direct. I'm from England and applied to adjust my status with an I-485 application from a tourist visa but her country might be different. All I can say is try and put an application in asap as I only had 3 months to do this otherwise she will be out of status. Hope this helps you out.
