I am born a U.S. Citizen, can i report my son's birth abroad (who is still abroad) here in USA? Reason is i filed a IR1 for my wife and added our son to the petition and i got a message from NVC stating my petition doesn't allow derivative family.

if your son is below 18 he is still derivative.
