Always best to call ahead and state your preference. There's times you'll want outside, like everyone else, and timed you'll want inside, like everyone else. Sun hits the outside patio late in the day, which can make it comfortable on a cool day, and too hot on a warm evening.

I would make a reservation, it tends to fill up fast on the weekends especially if the weather is nice, plus a table for ten they would have to put two tables together.
Reservations are a good idea so the staff will have the tables made up. They also have a great patio you could ask to be seated on. Everyone is very flexible and accomodating.
