No these folks are telling you wrong.....3rd base side is only in shade after about 2:30pm. First base side, back off the field, until we approach summer solstice and sun reaches our north shoulder during the day, will be shade all game.
There are a couple of different options. Just make sure to ask for a seat in the shade when buying tickets. Call in advance and buy from the front office staff. They will be able to help you more than if you buy the tickets at the gate.
