Why does this place make up reason to kill these poor animals? And why do the staff always act so rude and inconsiderate to both the animals and the people combing to adopt?

The Arc is very clean and the people are very polite and caringi t's not the people working there that are the problem , the problem is all the backyard breeders especially of pitbulls presently, I've also in my lifetime seen it be chows , German shepherds andvDoberman Pinschers that were over bred and along with backyardvbreeding comes dogs that are inbred and have mental and physical issues. I wish a law would go into effect that unless you're breeding pedigree and or registered dogs for the standard of the breed that you are fine and or jailed and it's nothing against the mixed breed dogs out there I think they're the sweetest thing in the world but as long as dogs are being killed in the shelter there should be a law against the breeding

I’m sorry if you think I’m being rude but I have been there multiple times where the dogs cages were so filthy that they couldn’t walk around with out going in their own waste, along with the fact that they killed a litter of 5 month old kittens for being aggressive, I have also seen many of these people saying that their pet was killed for a reason that was a lie, such as the excuse that the owner of the dog had it bite there daughter when they didn’t have a daughter and it has never bit, also the staff if VERY rude! I’ve called and been hung up on, been insulted, or they just never picked up the call, please I’m telling you this is a murder shelter they kill the animals way to fast to be adopted most of the time, I’m not saying anything wrong with the animals their, they are all sweeties, but the people are not taking care of these animals the way they should be

I've been there on several occasions and never witnessed anything like that.

I have adopted there twice, and have never been treated as you state. Unfortunately, they are the end of the road of the road for many dogs. They have to make the hard decision to euthanize dogs due to owner's carelessness, and overbreeding by people. They can't keep all of them.

I have adopted 3 animals from this shelter. Not once have I met a rude employee. I ask that if you come to the shelter arrive with an understanding that this is a somber place and not a place of fun. People working there have to watch the animals they care for attempt an opportunity to get adopted and in half of the cases don’t and end up being on the euthanized list. If you feel unappreciated when you visit then ensure you adopt an animal instead of simply looking around and expecting employees that are working hard to address the needs of 200 animals to stop what there doing and offer you a dog biscuit. Help to be the solution, donate, adopt and pass along meaningful information to others. 📝

can't speak for this location but i have seen this sort of abuse in other shelters (inhumane society) my mother's pika-pom ended up in a humane society shelter after grandma was taken to the hospital while home alone and police carted puffy off to them. when we arrived to rescue him he was in a cage being sprayed with a cold garden hose (it was autumn) in the low 40's ).the attendant was mad cause puffy wouldn't stop barking at him

Are they taking in dogs? so basically I showed up from work to a dog in a cage and a note. The dog isn’t mine and I can’t keep them where I live. I am going to end up evicted but I can’t just let it go. And can’t keep missing work trying to find a rescue.

we just got a rescue from them. they were top notch in care, comfort, shots, instructions, everything to help you KEEP your rescue. you have to ask yourself one question before you judge a kill shelter. Why? How many dogs can you keep in your home? How many have you rescued? Why do people breed dogs like some kind of sickness, only to abandon them? Why is there a need for kill shelters? Because stupid short minded young people breed breed breed buy buy buy and when the dog doesn't 'fit their 'lifestyle' or they cannot handle a dog...they are brought here. SO is it the shelters fault, or the dog 'owners' ?
