I took the 90 min. tour and it went as far as the lock for Lake Michigan.
It goes to Lake Michigan, and out a mile or so. Then, it travels down the lakefront. I recommend taking the evening cruise. The lights were fanaminal!

Mine did not go on lake Michigan it was also 90 mins
It doesn't go all the way across the lake, but certain tours go out into the lake for about 45 minutes.
90 min tour took us out past the lock. Saw a light house and chicago lights at night as it came back. I would definitely recommend taking this if you never have. It's definitely something to experience.
