Thanks Morgan! I have those too. I describe them as darkish grey birds with black masks. The others are coal black down to and including their ?shoulders and chests, and a virtually straight diagonal line from the former to the latter dividing the black and grey sections. I'm having a hard time seeing if either of them has light undersides but so far it's a no. I don't take any assistance lightly. I've looked everywhere, Sapsucker Woods and so forth. Nothing even close so far.

Most likely a slate colored variant of a Dark Eyed Junco. They have pale pink beaks and white feathers on the outer edges of their tails. Juncos migrate down and visit for the winter. They're ground feeders and love millet!
