I be wondering that too.
What about the stores that ask you at the register if you want a paper receipt or in your email? Therefore if you choose email you will not have a receipt going out the door. Just something to ponder.
I have an opinion. I am not certain but there are more than negative reasons for such an action. Maybe theft is high. If the store does this to everyone there is no need for folks to feel they've been racially or culturally profiled. Or maybe theft isnt high but it's a theft prevention. I am not a WalMart fan. However, why shouldn't a store ask its employees for a receipt and or verify purchases. Less theft means lower prices. Maybe WalMart wanted to create additional jobs for Rifke and the surrounding community. That would be a positive outcome.
Probably because Costco does it and nobody challenges it.
