For this trail it's about 4 miles round trip with gem pond at the top. Its a beautiful spot and definitely worth the hike!
The trail is as long as you like. It connects to days worth of trail and I have seen backpackers start from this trailhead. I like to hike up to gem pond. 2 miles or so up. With a 4 year old it takes about 3 hours up and 1 hour down. But in shape adults can do it much faster.
