Libraries are supported by tax dollars ..they have to pay staff, but materials, pay utility Bill's, etc. They are a bargain but not exactly free. Welcome, Lori, and we hope you will come in and learn all about what we can offer to you.

Like Kathryn said, if you live outside the city limits there is an annual fee of $20.00. Festus is $30. Jefferson County is $80.

Love Desoto Public Library and all they do for the community. We live in town so no fee, but even if we didn't $20 is well worth it.

If you live in DeSoto there is no charge as you pay taxes in city. However, outside the city you pay a fee 0f $20.00 yearly..well worth it. It is a great Library with really wonderful librarians
