Try the Habitat for Humanity store off Jackson Ave. They have futons pretty often.
I haven't seen a futon there, but it's possible one could come in. It's hard to expect something so specific when shopping resale.
Stock changes daily. You just have to go in and see if they have one thats been donated.

You may also check the PTO thrift shop and the Ann Arbor reuse center. They're both on S. Industrial, close to Salvation army. Turnover daily.
Depends on what they have that day but they always have some couches and will probably have a futon
