i just left there this place is under staff. The food they serve you is nasty. If you find a job they will find away for you to miss the appointment. Not a halfway house to go. we had more freedom at Bayside state prison farm. what you read about there program is not true.
Kintock in Newark is the worst halfway house you can go to. It is a mini prison full of hypocritical underpaid staff who lie and do everything they can to make the inmates lives impossible for no reason. The staff there are all rejects that couldn't work anywhere else because of something they did wrong while working at a prison or just very uneducated people who have to settled for an underpaid job. Everything they say about this place is true. Even the staff that works in the kitchen steals the food. This place will make you see the bad in people. It's really sad. The people working there are way worse than the people who are doing time there. This is a fact.

I know someone there now. Food is atrocious they pretty much starve you. Rules are pretty strict but you have an opportunity to better yourself if you truly wanted to. My friend is working & going to school while there & really improving. Tell your son to keep his nose clean cuz 1 screw up for any little thing u will be sent right back to jail.
Food not stellar, not the best looking place, vending machines expensive
