Hi, I've never hunted out there. I'd like to start but my question is how crowded is it? Are there certain places and areas where people have "staked a claim" or have been hunting in a spot for years that need know about? Dont want to step on toes.

What I'd like to know david is how do u get one of those camping permits got a friend coming in from Minnesota and we was ganna camp and hunt their know how to get one?

The area is never "crowded". There are several parking areas or lots. A camping by permit only site, and a shooting range. Terrain is pretty rough so most people tend to hunt near these lots. As far as Individuals claiming territory over hunting spots , it is first come first served. But It's always good to keep several options in mind. For example , yesterday I arrived later than I wanted to. I had 2 spots in mind. Option A was occupied, so I started walking to option B and someone drove past me , parked right where I was going to enter the woods, so I just decided to enter the woods near where I was at at the time. I found a decent spot to sit and within 2 hours I harvested a pretty nice buck. It's definitely Definitely worth the trip. But Remember this if you should you choose to hunt here. The areas terrain can be pretty rough. With limited to no vehicle access allowed. Should you harvest a deer you'll want to be physically able to drag it up hill to the road.

we only went hiking so I dont know about the hunting
