I used to have two kitten, my daughter always cut their nails . One of my cat had to put to sleep because he was so old his kidneys have fell. I'm going to retire soon and I would love to have my companion my dog and my cat. So I will get a kitten and puppy. In my family we always have dogs and cats thank you, for your opinion and your help.
It depends if you want a puppy or dog and a kitten or cat. Personally I would get a puppy and a kitten at th same time. That way they grow together as family. It will be hard work as you will be training them at the same time. The kitten will potty train quickly, but you will have to keep it claws trimmed all the time so it doesn't hurt the puppy too bad.
