Highlands gondola is free and there's a short trail you can walk down to the lodge from the Ritz Carlton.
It is $42.50 to ride the gondola per day or you can get a season pass for $199.
I believe it's $40 currently. If the snow is light, then the other option is to take the free gondola to the Ritz and it's a quick walk down to mid-mountain.
I can't speak for North star, but there is a fee for non-skiers riding the gondola at Heavenly...I think it's $55.
