Hi Sandi. Our shop performs all piercings with a single use needle. Piercing guns do not offer a fully sterile procedure. A reputable piercer who is trained correctly will perform a piercing with the highest level of consideration to safety and cross contamination. Our piercer belongs to the Association of Professional Piercers which means he maintains high standards for his membership. There are also concerns to the jewelry quality used in a piercing gun. The jewelry we use for an initial piercing is of an implant grade standard. Jewelry used in a piercing gun is never of the same quality. The list of reasons to avoid a piercing gun is quite long.
