I am a Vietnam era veteran. I recently heard (not sure where) that there is an opportunity for Social Security benefits to be slightly increased due to sercive in the Military? Trying to verify. Jim

The issue is an issue with the Social Security Administration. It is possible that some Vets haven't gotten credit for earning while in the military and as a result their life time earnings are lower by the amount of what they got paid in the military. Go to the local Social Security Admin office and ask them to verify that your military pay years are included in your life time earnings calculations. Most of the records already do include the military pay years but there are some that don't.
